Austin Lake Estates real estate has nuances of the l960′s as well as new, upscale homes that front the lake.  It is just minutes west of Austin on Bee Caves or FM 2242, as it is known today. During the l960′s, Austin Lake Estates was home to many of the “hippie” population.  This neighborhood was also home to musicians and many people who were active in the different arts.

As the decades moved forward, the neighborhood began to change and take on new life.  There are some fabulous duplexes here that were built during the 1970s and 1980s.  Beginning the 1990s, new areas were developed with upscale homes and today, there are gorgeous lakeside homes.  Homeowners here have access to the lake and access to downtown in just minutes.
