Leander Texas

While the two communities of Cedar Park and Leander are usually said as Cedar Park-Leander, they are separate cities. Although the distance between the two towns is hardly noticeable anymore, both Leander and Cedar Park have their own local city government. Leander is located to the northwest of Cedar Park and with an estimated population of about 30,000 residents, Leander is a progressive, thriving, and affordable community that offers much in the way of employment, entertainment and shopping.

Leander Schools

The Leander Independent School District provides for the city of Leander but encompasses a large rural area which includes Cedar Park and the area from Steiner Ranch up to 2222 and 360. Leander ISD is one of the fastest growing districts in the nation. With 33 campuses at my last count, the district is building schools here in 2009 and more are scheduled to be built in order to serve this huge geographical district.

Leander Features

Leander offers a wide range of homes that are in all stages of readiness and real estate that is still available to build your own home. This location offers ease of access west to the beautiful hill county and the Highland Lakes area. Traveling east you will find the Round Rock, Georgetown area which offers a nationally known retirement community, some beautiful new golf course communities, access to major employers and health care along with first class dining, shopping, and entertainment. If you travel south you find the capitol city of Austin, Texas. Austin is the closest metropolitan city in this area. It offers governmental agencies, the University of Texas at Austin along with many others institutions of higher learning. Austin is well known for its appreciation and accommodation of the music and movie scene.

The Crystal Falls Golf Club is truly a picture of the Hill Country. Fairways at Crystal Falls is a gated community, is gorgeous and overlooks the golf course. Another gated community built around the golf course is Grand Mesa at Crystal Falls. There are breathtaking views in this community. The city of Leander can still provide a small town, neighborly atmosphere that is common in Central Texas but still offer all the amenities of a thriving, bustling city that is preparing for the ever expanding growth and to meet the needs of present and future residents. Here you will find great master planned communities like Boulders at Crystal Falls, Lakeline Ranch, Block House Creek and Cold Springs, many with elementary schools within the neighborhood and most will have amenity centers Highlands at Crystal Falls with pool(s), sport courts, park(s) and playground(s).

Transportation To and From Leander

With the addition of Toll Road 183A, residents of Leander no longer have to drive through Cedar Park to get to Austin.  At 70 mph on the roll road, it is a breeze and no longer a deterrent to this great area. There are Park and Rides for those who prefer public transportation. In March 2009, the metro rail should be up and running and many people are choosing the Cedar Park-Leander area for this reason.
